We value all of our clients highly – they are at the centre of everything we do. Everyone is treated as an individual and no case is ever the same.

At BenefitsWise we have helped many people navigate their way to successfully applying for all the welfare benefits that they are entitled to. A lot of our clients have been so impressed by what we have done for them (when either they couldn’t do it for themselves or had been told by others they weren’t entitled at all) that they have personally recommended us to others that they know.

We know that each client is different and we treat everybody with consideration, respect and dignity and as we would like to be treated ourselves. We’re very proud of what we do and what difference we help make to our clients’ day to day lives.

The Harrison family approached BenefitsWise for help in 2015. Initial contact was made by Mr Harrison on behalf of his wife who had been diagnosed with dementia. The family had already identified that Mrs Harrison was entitled to Attendance Allowance but found the forms that needed to be filled in were so difficult to understand that they proved impossible to complete.

Doreen is a widow and was finding it a real challenge to live on a small private pension and the State Pension, while struggling with increasingly difficult mobility issues and deteriorating breathing capability.

In 2015 a friend advised her to contact BenefitsWise to see if there was any help she could apply for. When we met, Doreen was confident that she was not going to be entitled to any welfare benefits as her own research had led her to believe that this was the case.

Bryan was referred to BenefitsWise by a friend of his whom we had helped.

Suffering from deteriorating physical health, Bryan was finding it increasingly difficult to cope with the practicalities of everyday life. Like many other people, he had turned to a number of charitable organisations and Social Services for advice on whether or not he could apply for much needed help in the way of welfare benefits but was incorrectly told he couldn’t.

Phoenix approached BenefitsWise in 2013. Diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and living on his own, Phoenix was already in receipt of Employment and Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance. Convinced that he wasn’t on the correct rates, he had applied several times on his own for higher rate Disability Living Allowance mobility and care allowances but was repeatedly declined. Having taken the time to fully understand Phoenix’s case, BenefitsWise concluded that the DWP’s decision to decline was wrong.

Phoenix expects to receive his Disability Living Allowance to Personal Independence Payment transfer letter soon and has asked us to work with him again when it arrives.

Anthony was introduced to BenefitsWise in 2014 by a family friend who had seen what we had done to help a member of his own family. When we met, Anthony was already in receipt of Employment and Support Allowance.

Despite having been told by other bodies that he wasn’t entitled to any other welfare benefits it was obvious to us when we met that Anthony needed more help and was fully entitled to additional welfare benefits.

Anthony placed his trust in us to help him through the difficult and anxious process of applying for those other benefits, which he was fully entitled to and badly needed.

Dawn medically retired from the prison service in 2012 due to ill health and contacted BenefitsWise in 2013 after experiencing real difficulty in applying for the welfare benefits that she was entitled to.

In 2015 Dawn received her letter from DWP transferring her from Disability Living Allowance to Personal Independence Payment. Like most people who are receiving the transfer letters it was daunting and stressful for Dawn so she got back in touch with us to help and support her again.

As a result of our help and support, Dawn was successful in her transfer from Disability Living Allowance to Personal Independence Payment, meaning that she kept her car, which is so important to her independence and quality of life.

Ann contacted BenefitsWise in 2014 and asked for our help and support.

Following an accidental fall at work Ann lost her job, lost her income and had mobility issues. Like lots of our clients and their families, Ann found it really difficult to understand what all the forms meant and also which welfare benefits she was actually entitled to.

With our help Ann was successfully awarded Disability Living Allowance mobility and care components and contribution based Employment and Support Allowance.
